Sigh. Re-ment is not what it used to be. I used to really enjoy all the series they came out with, nearly purchasing every series they made. However this year the series have been a bit naff, as the Brits would say. I do like the Hello Kitty stuff, so far there have been three series of minis but that is nothing compared to the 12 or so Disney minis and furniture that Re-ment has released in 2009.

This was my slowest Re-ment year of all time and since Megahouse is no longer making minis I’m a bit down about collecting right now. For certain if I collected Disney stuff (especially Mickey Mouse) I would be thrilled to no end how Re-ment has tackled that merchandising. How they keep coming up with new Disney series is mind-boggling.

This is the set for December, a small cakes series with 12 sets.

For Januaury, a Valentine’s Day series. When I get a larger picture so you can see the detail I will post it!

I’ve slowed down a great deal on my Re-Ment collecting for now. I haven’t been so thrilled with the new series I’ve gotten and I have a huge backlog of Re-Ment waiting to be cataloged and put into my special Re-ment collection boxes. I had really done well with this about a year ago but time just got away from me. I need to catch myself up again because I was able to get many of the sets I had wanted to complete a number of the series collections. Now I am just overwhelmed. My Mom calls my Re-ment spot in the office, “The Leaning Tower of Re-ment” which is actually is.

I need to do better organizing. I’ve barely even done a third of the Re-ment I have. I think I need a support group.

Here is the series I just got:

This set comes with (from top row Left) Hello Kitty birthday cake, Hello Kitty bento box, Hello Kitty pancakes, Hello Kitty rice omelet ( a popular children’s meal in Japan), Hello Kitty croquette dinner, Hello Kitty curry dinner, Hello Kitty apple pie and Hello Kitty custard. What is especially neat are the plates, cups and utensils which can be used in a variety of other displays too.

This is the original Hello Kitty mini series I have. It came in a red version and a pink version. From top Left there is a Hello Kitty bento, Hello Kitty box of chocolates, a Hello Kitty Salisbury steak dinner, Hello Kitty tea service, Hello Kitty hot pot and the Hello Kitty serving platter for the hot pot.

This was another set of Hello Kitty mini’s. Highly detailed though some were unfortunately not the most popular characters, like Patty & Jimmy and Mr. Penguin.

This is a new teeny tiny Hello Kitty room series. I haven’t gotten this yet but it looks super pink and kawaii. They need to come out with a little mini dollhouse to put all this stuff in. Oh wow – I would love a little Hello Kitty doll house!

Finally above is the Hello Kitty mini play set (not sure if the furniture series would fit in this). It is intended for kids to play with and looks like lots of fun because there are stickers to customize everything. There is also another set that is a playground and a conbini (Japanese convenience store).

I am crazy about conbini’s so I actually thinking of getting this. I won’t actually play with it of course – well – much! It is truly too cute for words. Sometime I will have to do a photo shoot of my Re-ment conbini. It is one of my favorite Re-ment set-ups. Next to the sushi bar that is. Oh, sometime I will have to share that too!

The first is a new super kawaii candy shop. I really like everything here but adore the mini Pez dispensers.

The next is an action Re-ment series called Dance Food. It is similar to the last series of restaurant displays.

The above series is called Hotel Buffet. It looks ok to me, at least it is somewhat different from the series they have been offering lately. It could be interesting if used with other older Re-ment items to create a full looking brunch buffet. It’s not going on my short-list however. I don’t know if I will purchase it.

I am not overly crazy about yet another Disney themed series (there have been so many this year it is starting to get to everyone in the Re-ment Addicts group) but I do like Winnie-the-Pooh so this actually has some potential interest for my collection.

Everyone in the group was kind of like – what another sushi series? Yet this is really the only one that interests me because this was what got me into Re-ment in the first place. I wanted miniature versions of sushi! Though I only eat vegetarian sushi personally I love all sushi as an art form. I especially like the cruelty-free versions that Re-ment does. I like my sushi plastic! Re-ment does Japanese food the absolute best of all.
